2018 8 Wing CFB Trenton Update - Luncheon
8 Wing Commander Colonel Mark Goulden will update our local business community on 8 Wing operations and RCAF Air Mobility.

Colonel Mark Goulden was born into a military family in Zwiebrucken, Germany, and grew up in Edmonton, Trenton and London England before joining the Canadian Armed Forces in 1990.
Colonel Goulden was selected to fly the CC-130 Hercules after he completed pilot training at 15 Wing Moose Jaw in September of 1994. He completed his training and was posted to 436 Transport Squadron at 8 Wing Trenton, supporting operations around the world including in the former Yugoslavia, Central Africa, Honduras and East Timor. In 2000, Colonel Goulden was posted to 426 Squadron as an instructor at the Tactical Training Flight. In 2006 he returned to 436 Squadron as the Deputy Commanding Officer. While at 436 Squadron, in 2007 he commanded the Tactical Airlift Unit for Operation ATHENA in Afghanistan, and two years later, in 2009 he was selected to fly the CC130J Hercules and trained with the United States Air Force in Arkansas, and with the National Guard in California. Colonel Goulden was privileged to be a part of the crew that delivered the first CC130J to 8 Wing in June 2010.
In 2010, he attended the Joint Command and Staff Program at the Canadian Forces College in Toronto, and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
From 2012 to 2014, Colonel Goulden was honoured to be appointed as the Commanding Officer at 436 Squadron.
Colonel Goulden?s staff tours include positions at Canada Command, the Directorate of Aerospace Requirements and the Canadian Forces Aerospace Warfare Centre. He recently completed a tour at the Strategic Joint Staff in National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa.
Colonel Goulden is a graduate of Trenton High School, Seneca College, and the Royal Military College of Canada. He was promoted to his current rank in June 2017. Colonel Goulden, his wife Deborah and their children Max and Sam are very pleased to return to their hometown of Trenton.
