Mark Your Calendar - Savour Food and Drink Festival
October 02, 2017
SAVOUR – Explore the Flavours of QuinteTrenton, Ontario – With the fall colours changing outside the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for Savour, the Bay of Quinte Food and Drink Festival. This annual favourite will be at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Friday, November 10, 2017.
Imagine savouring a bowl of butternut squash soup, creatively prepared by a Quinte Region chef using squash that was picked yesterday from a farm just down the road. Enjoy a warm apple crisp made using freshly picked apples, and drizzled with local maple syrup or an entree featuring fresh, grass-fed organic local beef, and complementing your palate with a taste of wine from one of Prince Edward County’s award-winning wineries. Local artists, musicians, chefs, and wineries will be present from 5:00pm to 9:00pm to create a rich cultural experience that celebrates the “tastes” of the Bay of Quinte region.
“This year Savour is gearing up to be the best yet. We are going to have such a great array of foods to sample from our vendors” says Stephanie Wilson, event coordinator, “It is a great opportunity for our community to come out and savour the amazing flavours our region has to offer”. Come and enjoy a casual evening celebrating the “tastes” of Quinte. Linger and listen to live jazz entertainment featuring The Groove Trio, while relishing in culinary delights, local wineries and exhibits by regional artists. This year there are nine food vendors, three wineries, two breweries and one cider company. Attendees will have the pleasure of enjoying everything from mouth-watering BBQ from Neil’s BBQ Nation to fine wines from award-winning Sandbanks Winery. A wide array of local cuisine, wine, cider, and beer will be available for sampling on this special evening.
“Vendors from across the Quinte region will have a great opportunity to introduce a new product or reacquaint the region with one of their signature products” says Suzanne Andrews, manager of the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce. “We will have our Tasters Choice Award again this year where attendees can chose the ‘taste’ they enjoyed best.”
The cost to attend is $20.00 in advance or $25.00 at the door. With the purchase of a ticket everyone will receive a complimentary wine glass and two taste tickets. This is an age of majority event, and we invite adults of all ages to enjoy not only a great night out with friends, but a fine representation of art and culture in Quinte West.
“We are very excited to showcase all the ‘tastes’ that Quinte has to offer and promote our local restaurants and caterers”, says Andrews. “The event sponsors for this years’ event are: Shorelines Casino Belleville; Foodland Ontario; Wilkinson & Company; PropertyGuys.com; Quinte First Credit Union; Dr. Julianne Peterson, Certified Orthodontist; Willow Printing and Publishing; 95.5 Hits FM and Cool 100; Metroland and the Trentonian/Community Press. We really appreciate the support of our Sponsors as they make it possible for us to host this amazing event that has become a local favourite over the past several years.”
