The Bay of Quinte Vintage Market is the latest venture from the husband and wife team of Michel and Karen Bertrand. They moved to Trenton a year ago and Michel who is better known as HOSS; hopes to use his talents as a professional auctioneer to help Quinte West. “We conducted hundreds of charity and benefit auctions and raised millions of dollars for different organizations where we used to live,” said Hoss. “Karen and I hope do the same here now that Quinte West, Trenton is our home.”
Hoss has been in the antique business for most of his life and graduated from Auction School in 1993. He captured the All round World and Canadian championship title held in 1998 Toronto and he is fluently bilingual and conducts auctions in both languages, French and English back and fourth.
The Bay of Quinte Vintage Market is the former O’Hara’s in carrying Place, here they will manage the 20,000sq foot multi vendor market. Their slogan is “WE CORNER THE COUNTY”. At the market, you will find one vendor selling sports memorabilia, sports cards, etc. Several vendors selling antiques and vintage furnishings, vendors with smalls, china, glass, collectables, etc. and have one section designated for crafters, artists, artisans. There is a barbershop and hair stylist on location and a great diner formally known as The Mason Jar. The indoor market is open every Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm. Their next goal is to have the outdoor market going soon.
