Promise Land Family Fun Farm
Don and Cheryl quickly capitalized on this new venture and began building their family of farm friends. Beginning with Angel the miniature horse. They started with a mobile concept to bring the zoo to you, attending various events such as Canada Day at Zwicks Park, Global Pet Foods Zoo, and other special events in the community. They quickly built a name for themselves of quality services, and upstanding moral values. Since then the concept has grown. On Saturday October 6, 2012 the Farm became open to the public, offering a full wheelchair accessible petting zoo, BBQ, Snack Shack, and playground.
The animals earn the hearts of everyone that they meet. There are sixteen different kinds of animals on the farm all with their own name and story of how they came to be on the farm and part of the Dowswell family. Like the Donkey named Donkey who was a rescued from a meat packing plant only to become one of the most loving, and affectionate animals you will ever meet. There is never a dull moment here at the farm. Whether it is the rutting billie goats, the peacocks fanning their beautiful plumes, hatching the chicks, sheering the sheep, or birthing a baby colt in the middle of the night. It is beyond worth it when you can sit on the grounds and peer out over the rolling hills and have all this in the foreground while you enjoy some sizzling BBQ and realize ''this is the place to be''.
